Project management is the ability to have a big project, break it down into small steps, set deadlines for each small step and check yourself that you're doing it.
Project management is an important skill because it helps you to achieve big projects. No one can sit down and knock out, say, a research project in one sitting - it's too big. So project management is about 'eating the elephant one bite at a time'.
Project management involves having a big target (for example, getting your research in by June 6), looking for the small parts of the bigger project, writing a plan, and being tough on yourself to meet each of your mini milestones (each of your little tasks). Check out these readings and videos to find out more before writing up your own project management plan.
So when you get to your project management, follow these steps to success:
Brainstorm all the small parts of your large project. For example, research is made up of asking questions, establishing an hypothesis, finding and selecting sources, writing notes from your sources, evaluating your sources as well as recording the source information. And then there are all the parts of the essay - planning, drafting, editing and referencing
Try to think of all the obstacles that get in your way. For example, your phone, you might give up when things get hard, you might feel like you don't know what you're doing, you might feel like you have too much on
Now think of the tools and strategies that you have that can help you. For example, your teacher can help explain stuff to you, check out resources on the internet, ask Kim the Librarian, reread /rewatch the information on the English site
Now get planning!
Start at the end and work backwards
Put in all the small pieces of the puzzle into your plan

5. Get working and crack on with your plan - check in on a daily basis though! Be honest with yourself about if you are meeting your mini milestones and why or why not; this is a great time to learn about yourself to be a better learner but that's only going to happen if you are honest with yourself.
Project management is taking a big project, breaking it into small chunks and thinking about how you're going to do each of those small chunks, or milestones.
You need to think what your big goal is and work backwards from there.
You need to be tough on yourself to meet each of your smaller milestones.
