Flight of the Fantail 

The plan for Term 3 is to:

• read a novel by Ngati Mutunga author, Steph Matuku, called Flight of the Fantail. It is about a group of teenagers involved in bus crash on their way back from a geography trip.

• analyse the novel and be able to explain our analysis in an essay that is 350-500 words long.

• extend out thinking around Flight of the Fantail by writing on it in a piece of writing that is 350-800 words long

Assessments:

• AS91926 Develop ideas in writing using stylistic and written conventions (5 credits) which is an internal which asks you to write a piece of writing that is 350-800 words long.

• AS91925 Demonstrate understanding of specific aspects of studied text (5 credits) which is an external which asks you to write a 350-500 word essay about out novel.
