Postpartum Support International (PSI)
PSI is an international organization that strives to increase awareness of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) and provide resources and support for parents. Reading material, listening material, and video content are among the extensive resources available on the website. PSI gets parents connected both with professionals via the provider directory, as well as with each other via online support groups.
Motherhood Matters (located in Davenport)
Motherhood Matters is a collective of small businesses in the Quad Cities who share a goal of providing resources and support for parents in the area. Resources include doulas, lactation support, nutrition support, movement classes, pelvic floor therapy, postpartum rehabilitation, spinning babies, chiropractic care, and massage.
Motherhood Matters also hosts a support group for those struggling with postpartum depression and anxiety. The support group is facilitated by Rachel Thennes, MOT, OTR/L and meets on the third Sunday of every month from 10:00-11:30am. The group is free with no registration or diagnosis needed before joining. Babies are welcome to attend with their parents. With advance notice, childcare for older children may be available at little to no cost to parents.
QC Moms is a local group where parents can support, connect, and lift each other up! Their website is full of things for families to do in and around the Quad Cities during all seasons. The website also offers additional reading for parents interested in topics including health, beauty, relationships, pregnancy, parenting, and travel. QC Moms can also be found on Facebook, where parents can support and connect with each other in a private group.
