Who: Any 3rd - 5th grader currently enrolled at Wade King Elementary School
What: Learning songs in preparation for assemblies, hall singing and any in-school (on campus) singing opportunities only
When: Wednesdays
Time: 7:30 - 8 a.m.
Where: Wade King music room
Cost: Free
Start Date: Wednesday, Jan. 7
End Date: Open until June; schedules provided periodically throughout the season via Parent Square and also handed out during rehearsal.

Expectations: Please read these guidelines closely with your singer. The Google registration form is your student's signed permission to attend Morning Choir.
Attendance will be taken at each rehearsal. It is expected that students arrive on time and ready to sing at 7:30 a.m.
Students arriving late to rehearsal will be asked to check in with a designated student helper for attendance. Following rehearsal, Mrs. Mazur will touch base with any late students.
It is important that singers arrive on time each week. If tardiness becomes a weekly habit, Mrs. Mazur will speak with parents or guardians to determine the next best steps.
If your student's bus arrives after 7:30 a.m, please indicate this in your registration form.
If your student arrives before 7:30 a.m., they will wait outside the school's main entrance doors until a staff member unlocks the building.
All registered singers are expected to follow our school-wide expectations in the hallway upon arrival, in the music room during rehearsal, and in the hallway when returning to class. If a student is unable to follow these expectations (being safe, kind, caring, and principled), they will be given a warning and Mrs. Mazur will contact the student's parents or guardians. If the challenges persist, a meeting with families will be planned to work together on determining the next steps.
All students attending the first rehearsal on Sept. 24 must complete and submit their Google registration form before attending rehearsal. All forms are due by Sept. 24 if the student wishes to perform in the Veterans Day assembly.
All registered students must attend rehearsals in order to participate in the Veterans Day assembly on November 7.
If a student is marked absent, Mrs. Mazur will check in with home. If a student has more than two unexcused rehearsals (excused = sending a ParentSquare message or email), Mrs. Mazur will contact parents or guardians.
It is important Morning Choir singers are safe and accounted for on Wednesday mornings. Homeroom teachers will receive a choir roster and are expecting their choir students to be in the music room before school (not outside or in the library).

Note: Junior Choir is all about FUN, FUN, FUN! There are no scheduled performances at this time. As the group assembles and rehearsals begin, information regarding a small performance will be shared.

What: Honor Choir is intended for students who are eager to learn how to elevate their singing potential and perform with high energy and stamina. During Session 2 of Honor Choir, students will work toward preparing for Honor Choir Fest at the Christ the King Community Church in Bellingham on March 21 with a possible additional local National Anthem performance.

Time: 2:30 - 4 p.m.

Cost: $75 per student, per session

Expectations:
Honor Choir students are expected to follow school expectations and expected to practice at home between after-school rehearsals. Music and sing-along materials will be posted on ParentSquare in the Honor Choir ParentSquare group.
Attendance is required at all rehearsals. Questions about the attendance policy absences, should be directed to Angela Mazur via ParentSquare or email.
Any parent/guardian interested in chaperoning Honor Choir during afternoon rehearsals will receive a full scholarship for their student. There are three spaces available. Chaperones will alternate days to attend if all three spaces are filled.
Rehearsals:
Session 1: 10/14, 10/21, 10/28, 11/4, 11/18, 12/2, and 12/9
Session 2: 1/27, 2/3, 2/10, 2/17, 2/24, 3/3, 3/10, and 3/17 (performance TBA)
Session 3: 3/24, 3/31, 4/14, 4/21, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19 (Performance possibilities will be updated as they become available.)
Once again, the Wade King Choir nailed it, singing the National Anthem at the Mariners versus Red Sox game Monday, June 16.
If you missed it, check out the video below of the performance, which included an enthusiastic spray of fireworks to compliment the rocket's red glare. These kiddos did so well, and we're so proud.

Bellingham Public Schools recently highlighted Wade King's choir on the their website, underscoring the choir's growth and success over the last two years.
Lead by the illustrious Angela Mazur, our students were once again asked to perform the National Anthem at T-Mobile Park before a Seattle Mariners game this spring.
