Strategic Kids: LEGO Ninjago
The World of Ninjago will have students dive into the fascinating and exhilarating world of Ninjas. Explore Ninja heroes and villains and the worlds and ways they live. Kids will use fun facts and logic to solve Ninjas' dilemmas. Along the way, students will create beautiful stories of adventure and drama. They will also learn simple storytelling techniques to build wild Ninja stories!

After School Dance Party!
We will skip, jump, play games and learn fun dances! This class encourages students to have the strength and stamina to successfully perform moves, therefore class includes upper and lower body conditioning along with the high intensity warm-up to help get students excited! We infuse classic Hip Hop and Jazz styles with the latest popular dances, classes will include lots of games and across the floor exercises. Students will be encouraged to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to their movements. This class will keep kids moving, giving them structure as well as freedom!! They will learn a full routine to perform for parents on the last day of class! Unique Technique Dance has been providing classes in the Bellingham School District for 15 years and we love to keep kiddos moving and having tons of fun!!

Monthly membership of $200 includes your child's weekly Coding, STEM or Robotics Class as well as Saturday Drops and Wednesday Club Night

If adding the $50 for Tuesday's it includes: transportation from school at 2:30, snack, care until their classes start at 3:30 and transportation back to Wade King when the class ends at 4:45pm.
Transportation from Wade King to Coding and Robotics PROVIDED!
The Bellingham Coding and Robotics Club has an extra offer for Wade King students - Afterschool pick up on Tuesdays in our new van! We will pick them up and transport them to our new Club House on the corner of Meridian St and Cornwall park where they will have snacks and playtime until it's time for their class at 3:30 and then we will transport them back to Wade King after their Coding or Robotics Class ends at 4:45pm with a return back to WK by aprox 5:15pm.
Strategic Kids: Cartooning/Origami
Our unique STEAM-inspired Cartooning program is filled with laughter and
excitement each session! Whether your child is a beginner or an aspiring
artist, our Cartooning program caters to all levels of students. Our program
goes beyond simple drawing techniques. It also teaches shading, perspective,
and other essential cartooning skills. From sea creatures to geometric shapes,
your child will master the art of drawing a variety of cartoons!

Chess Club- After School
Any level of experience at playing the game of chess is welcome to join Chess Club! Students who were registered for the winter session as well as students who participated in the winter chess tournament will have a chance to register first which means that the club often fills up quickly! Make sure to register as soon as the link goes live!

GIRLS ON THE RUN- YMCA
Girls on the Run, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is a physical activity-based positive youth development (PA-PYD) program designed to enhance girls’ social, emotional and physical skills and behaviors to successfully navigate life experiences. The program’s intentional curriculum places an emphasis on developing competence, confidence, connection, character, caring and contribution in young girls through lessons that incorporate running and other physical activities. The life skills curriculum is delivered by caring and competent coaches who are trained to teach lessons as intended.
Girls on the Run International is the parent organization to 175+ local councils, serving over 200,000 girls annually.

WMBC GIRL'S - MOUNTAIN BIKE CLUB
Flying Squirrels is an after-school bike club open to girls from any school in our community. 2nd grade through high school, all skill levels welcome. There are two different 8 week after-school riding clubs each year: one in Spring (April - June) and one in Fall (Sept - Oct). We also do a few informal rides over the summer to keep girls having fun on bikes all year!
Weekly mountain bike rides at Galbraith Mountain and other Whatcom County trails and parks. Each week we will explore trails and get to know each other better through games & activities. We will divide into small groups based on skill level (beginner - advanced) but the focus for everyone is to have FUN and create a supportive environment to learn and build confidence on our bikes.

Spanish Class w/Ms. Maria!
Is your kid wanting to learn Spanish? Are you wishing that we had a Spanish class at WK? Well, you're in luck! Maria is one of the staff members at WK who works with promise-k students and is excited to be able to offer a Spanish class to students! Students will get exposure to the Spanish language by learning some of the basics through creative games, play, books and stories! Space is limited so sign up soon!

Do you need a scholarship?
Scholarships - PTA wants to ensure that Wade King parents and guardians feel supported and invited for their student to attend an after-school program each year. We aim to help all families who might find it difficult to pay for their children to attend an after-school program. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis as funds are available. ONLY ONE scholarship per child, per session (fall, winter, spring) across all programs. Scholarships (which some providers call “financial assistance”) are available through the class providers registration link. Scholarships over 50% of the class fee are eligible only to students who meet the criteria for the school district free or reduced lunch program. There are scholarships for less than 50% available through the class providers’ registration sites. Please contact wadekingpta@gmail.com if you need additional scholarship assistance beyond what the class providers offer.
