The Wade King Scholastic Book Fair is coming December 2 through the 6, following the Thanksgiving Break! 📚

In-person shopping will be available in the library before and after school, 7:30 - 8 a.m. and 2:30 - 3 p.m., and 12:45 - 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5. 

How to Shop

• Shop with your student with cash or credit card.

• Send your student to school with cash to shop independently.

•  Create a Scholastic eWallet to virtually fund your student’s shopping.

• Shop virtually and have books shipped to you.

eWallet Information

You can create an eWallet for your child on the Scholastic website. It’s like a virtual gift card that your child can use to shop the fair. This is much easier than cash if your child is shopping independently. eWallets can be restocked and added to remotely by parents/family members at any time. When creating an eWallet please use your student’s teacher’s last name only. Only create one eWallet per student. 

Teacher Book Baskets

Teachers will have “Wish Baskets” with books they would like for their classrooms. Families can purchase these books as a gift or contribute to a teacher’s eWallet. 

Bedtime with Books

A family event on Wednesday Dec. 4, from 6 - 7:30 p.m. Students are encouraged to wear pjs while they shop the book fair and enjoy stories read by Mrs. Hunter and other Wade King staff.  

Volunteers Needed

Helpers are needed to set up, run registers before and after school, assist with our Bedtime with Books event, and to clean up.

CALLING ALL DADS (and moms, but we really want some dads). You're invited to play at recess on Fridays between 10 a.m. and noon.

Did you know we only have one recess coach this year? Coach Steve is a wonderful asset to our school, but it never hurts to have more adults engaging with our kiddos.

If you work remotely or have a flexible schedule, consider this opportunity to volunteer an hour of your time. You must first complete the district volunteer application, and then sign up through our Sign-Up Genius.

Our slots are on Fridays, but you're welcome other days of the week. Contact Kate with any questions or concerns.

Donate items to an event, volunteer your time, or just participate in our monthly meetings. No effort is too small.

Did you know that Wade King Elementary has a free snack program?

Classrooms can always use extra snacks for kiddos who forget or can't bring one from home. We accept the following items:

• Honey Maid graham crackers

• Goldfish crackers

• Rold Gold pretzels

Please bring your donations to Sabrina or Laura in the office or to your child's teacher directly anytime throughout the year.
