The Importance of Early Childhood Language Development

Partnering With Quality Rated Early Learning Centers in Washington County

Ridge Road Primary School's Pre-K/Kindergarten staff along with staff from Kangaroo Pouch, Little People's Paradise, Smart Start Learning Center, and the Washington County NB & PW Club participated in professional learning provided by the Sandra D. Deal Center for Early Language and Literacy in Spring 2026. The focus of this professional learning was building and strengthening language development in young children. This work was funded by a grant from the Georgia Foundation of Early Care + Learning and has been awarded to Ridge Road Primary School for two consecutive years. 

Administrators from Smart Start Learning Center, Little People's Paradise Learning Center and the Washington County NB & PW Club partnered with WACO Reads and Principal Lynn Pool at Ridge Road Primary School to support building early language skills with our little ones in Washington County through professional learning.
