Community Read Alouds

Ridge Road Primary School invited community members to read to classes each month this school year. Each classroom also received a new book to keep for their classroom library.

Many community members made reading a priority by visiting classrooms to read to the students. Readers this year included staff from Washington County Regional Medical Center , Sandersville Fire Department, Queensborough Bank, Board of Education , and even a GBI Agent.

WCHS Big Boys and Big Girls are students in the Early Childhood Education Pathway and support many of the classes at Ridge Road. These students also serve as ambassadors at Community Read Aloud events.

Several retired employees from the Washington County Board of Education participated in one of the community read alouds as well as WCRMC Hospital Administrator Pam Stewart and Connie Fennell-Burley from UGA Archway Partnership.
