K-3: IT STARTS WITH ONE
This fun assembly is designed to get K-3 students thinking about how they have the power to bring positive change on their campus and in the world as they live out the golden rule. We break down simple ways to practice this and help students understand
empathy. The assembly begins with a funny story and ends with a challenge to the students to build others up.
4TH &5TH GRADE: CHOICES OF AN EVERYDAY HERO
This powerful assembly is designed to encourage 4th & 5th graders to make courageous choices like those of everyday heroes. Specifically, we talk about standing up for others, being kind, healthy ways to cope with stress and how to be a positive influence – both in person and in the digital world. Upon request , we also teach and discuss choices they may be facing in the coming years related to drugs and vaping. Lastly, we have students practice building each other up and being kind to each other, and
encourage them to do their part in making their school and their community more kind. The assembly includes compelling videos, stories, and opportunities for students to practice
complimenting one another.
What & Purpose:
Universal Access is a period in which each student receives what they need in reading. During this period, none of the classes in the grade level attend a specialist class such as PE, Science, or Music. Along with this, no new content is taught (i.e. social studies, science, etc). This allows for the grade level teachers and intervention staff to collectively support all students and each student based on students’ identified reading needs while also ensuring that students are not missing core instruction.
