What & Purpose:
A “Lucky Horseshoe” is a wooden token about the size of a half-dollar, with the words “Lucky Horseshoe” written on it alongside a picture of a horseshoe. The “Lucky Horseshoe” is given by any staff member to an entire class when that class is following one of the three school rules. When the class earns a certain number of “Lucky Horseshoes”, they get a class prize, such as a Bubbles Party or an Indoor Camping Party.

PUSD’s Mariachi Program is open to all students 3rd-12th grade. Students have the opportunity to learn to play an instrument, sing, and additional enrichment programs like Ballet Folklorico dancing, tutoring and art. Students meet Thursday evenings At Hearst Elementary School from 5-8 pm. Valley View is planning to host a Beginning Mariachi class in the future.

What & Purpose:
These are PTA sponsored monthly fundraising and community building opportunities at local dining establishments. Community members can meet up at the restaurant (or order out/delivery) and earn money for the Valley View PTA simply by stating they are there for the Valley View Meet and Eat. A part of the restaurant's proceeds will go back to Valley View PTA.

Sprit Assemblies are a monthly tradition at Valley View in which the whole school assembles for Valley View Spirit. Assemblies include singing the the school song, recognizing students who for our monthly character trait awards, choosing Caught Ya tickets for prizes from the prize box, sharing announcements such as the next Spirit Day challenge, and participating in or watching a student vs staff game.

For over 20 years, the Multicultural Fair has been a free to attend annual tradition hosted by the PTA in partnership with ELAC.
