What & Purpose:
The Valley View PTA partners with a local Kids Against Hunger chapter to host a food packing event in February for students in grades 2-5. Students and parents are invited to donate to Kids Against Hunger as well.

Lucky Horseshoe - Social & Emotional Learning
Lucky Horseshoe - Social & Emotional Learning
What & Purpose:
A “Lucky Horseshoe” is a wooden token about the size of a half-dollar, with the words “Lucky Horseshoe” written on it alongside a picture of a horseshoe. The “Lucky Horseshoe” is given by any staff member to an entire class when that class is following one of the three school rules. When the class earns a certain number of “Lucky Horseshoes”, they get a class prize, such as a Bubbles Party or an Indoor Camping Party.

Any time an entire class is showing respect, making good decisions, or solving problems in a mature manner

What & Purpose:
PUSD’s Mariachi Program is open to all students 3rd-12th grade. Students have the opportunity to learn to play an instrument, sing, and additional enrichment programs like Ballet Folklorico dancing, tutoring and art. Students meet Thursday evenings At Hearst Elementary School from 5-8 pm. Valley View is planning to host a Beginning Mariachi class in the future.

Meet & Eats (Monthly) - PTA Event

What & Purpose:
These are PTA sponsored monthly fundraising and community building opportunities at local dining establishments. Community members can meet up at the restaurant (or order out/delivery) and earn money for the Valley View PTA simply by stating they are there for the Valley View Meet and Eat. A part of the restaurant's proceeds will go back to Valley View PTA.
When & Where:
They occur throughout the year. Announcements will be made via PTA newsletter, Mustang memos, and Room Parent/Teacher emails.

Anyone who would like to support Valley View PTA.

What & Purpose:
Sprit Assemblies are a monthly tradition at Valley View in which the whole school assembles for Valley View Spirit. Assemblies include singing the the school song, recognizing students who for our monthly character trait awards, choosing Caught Ya tickets for prizes from the prize box, sharing announcements such as the next Spirit Day challenge, and participating in or watching a student vs staff game.

First Wednesday of the month in the Muti-Purpose Room (MPR), otherwise known as the cafeteria

Movie Night is sponsored by the PTA and is a free event for families and the community to attend. A double feature is typically offered with an early G rated feature for younger students and a later PG rated film for older students.

A date usually in September inside the MPR as well as the outdoor blacktop.

What & Purpose:
For over 20 years, the Multicultural Fair has been a free to attend annual tradition hosted by the PTA in partnership with ELAC. With grade level student performances as well as PUSD and community performances on the blacktop mainstage to cultural displays, activities and games to an international food hall and interactive passport program for students, all will learn new cultural facts and customs from members of our diverse Valley View community.

The memo goes out on Sunday evenings (or on Monday evenings, if there is no school on Monday) via ParentSquare. Click on the link within the ParentSquare email to access your preferred language.

Informally referred to as “Outdoor Ed”, this is a four-day, three-night camp that fifth graders and their teachers attend at the beginning of the 5th grade school year. This extended field trip provides students with social and educational opportunities that extend beyond the walls of Valley View.
