Dear 5th and 6th Grade Students and Families,
We miss you and hope you are staying safe! This is a challenging time for all of us while we work to find the best solutions to continue your education. Hopefully you are discovering that there are learning opportunities every day.
We have created this site to share resources for you to access at home during the school closure. None of the work is required, nor will it be graded. However, our goal is that you will use it daily to continue the learning process. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your teacher through ClassDojo or email:

Parents, do your best to monitor what students are doing online or with apps. Keep in mind that apps like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok all require that users be at least 13 years old. There are good reasons for that, which you can read about at Common Sense Media. It is an excellent resource for best practices and recommendations for age appropriate content, including movies.
We have chosen sites that are currently available for free, however, we cannot guarantee how long they will be free. Do not give any billing information. We want you and your families to access free resources ONLY. Please protect your privacy and use safe online practices:
1) Use Privacy Settings online and with apps;
2) Do not share personal information;
3) Keep accounts private (not public)

The school “Google” account will get you logged in to many of the websites that we have linked, or the site will be free with no sign-up required. If you have difficulty with your email log-in or password, please contact your teacher for help. Some sites may require you to “create an account”, but it will be free.

VUSD has created 2 grade level curriculum packets and will be handing out a 3rd packet the week of May 4th. These materials are available on-line and in print form and can be picked up at any of the "Grab and Go" meal distribution sites (GLC is one of these sites). The schedule for "Grab and Go" meals is linked to the VUSD website.
