Dear 1st and 2nd Grade GLC Families,

We miss you and hope you all are staying safe!

The purpose of this document is to share with you some resources that you can use with your child during this period of school closure. These resources are for your information and you can use them as you wish. None of the work is required, nor will it be graded. Our hope is that you will find some of these resources beneficial as you continue to work with your child at home. Please feel free to contact your child’s teacher directly if you have any questions or concerns:

Information Previously Shared:

Your child’s teacher has already reached out with information on how to log into online programs we regularly use in class. We have shared information on how to access Lexia Core 5 and Epic! for reading and IXL for math. We have also shared information regarding your child’s school email address and password as you may need this information in order to access some of the sites. If you have not received this information, please contact your child’s teacher so that we may assist you.

Curriculum Materials Available to all VUSD students:

VUSD has created curriculum packets for up to 15 days. These materials are already printed and are available for pick up at any of the Grab and Go Meal distribution sites (you do not have to go to GLC). The schedule for the Grab and Go can be found on the VUSD website (Meals / Grab-and-Go).

How to Access Clever at home:

One way that you can access Lexia from home is through the district Clever log in site. You can go to www.clever.com online. Then you will type in your school name (Global Learning Charter School) and it will link to Visalia Unified School District. At that point, select log in with Google and enter your child’s school email address and password (provided by their teacher). They will then be on their Clever home page and can select Lexia Core 5 from there.
