About the Climate Economy Resilient Communities Program

The Climate Economy Resilient Communities Program supports communities working on local climate action solutions that help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, lower energy use, increase climate resilience, and/or strengthen the local climate economy. Services are adaptable based on the community’s needs and can include support with community engagement processes, strategic planning, technical assistance, and/or project implementation.

Produced by the Vermont Council on Rural Development, Re-Imagine Johnson is a 3-month series of public meetings, bringing together a broad mix of community members with a Visiting Team made up of state, federal, non-profit, and philanthropic experts, to create intensive partnerships and tailored work plans for long-term local success.

Provided at no cost, the program gets citizens engaged in working for their communities and connects them to the resources they need to be successful. VCRD provides the overall structure and neutral facilitation each step of the way, and manages an extensive invitation process to ensure that all members of the community are welcomed, encouraged to attend, and are heard. VCRD has led community engagement and facilitation processes in 85+ towns over the past 25 years.
