Community Conversation and Forums

Community members will develop a self assessment of resiliency then share assets, challenges, and ideas in focus forums. 

Voting for Priorities

Tues,  Sept 10th
5:00-9:00 pm

Community members will see the communities self assessment of resiliency outcomes and discuss and prioritize action items.

Wed, Oct 9th
6:30-9:00pm

Johnson Elementary School

Task forces create action plans and work with a Resource Team to identify next steps.

Kick-Off Event - Mon, July 22nd, 4:30-9:00pm


Johnson community members come together in an interactive community conversation on challenges, assets, visions for the future and ideas for action. Then we will break for a community dinner followed by an interactive process that invites participants to identify the community status in terms of Basic Needs & Services; Community Connections & Capacity; Environment & Natural Systems; and Physical Infrastructure. A listening team of federal, state, business, nonprofit and philanthropic leaders join the forums and dinner. 

This session includes a free community dinner featuring live music by the Ukeladies Duo and open mic from 6-7pm. Childcare will be provided. Carpooling is encouraged - bring your neighbor! In addition to the forums, you can share ideas before and after through this form.

Community Meeting: Voting on Priorities - Tues,  September 10th, evening meeting


On Community Meeting Day, Johnson community members come together to review, discuss, and vote to prioritize ideas for action shared in the first forums. Through dot-voting, participants will whittle down a list of action ideas to a few priorities, and have the opportunity to sign up for task forces on those top priorities.


This session includes a free dinner and dessert, and childcare is provided. Carpooling is encouraged - bring your neighbor! Community Resource Meeting and Task Force Launch - Wed, October 9th,  6:30-9pm


At the Community Resource Meeting Johnson community members come together for the final step in the process. Task force groups, or re-vitalized existing groups, build action plans, set the scope of their work, and meet with a visiting team of resource providers and experts to identify available resources and funding opportunities.
