What I like about Serving in VTCMP: I truly enjoy the small part I play in something that is much bigger than myself. As the daughter of a Navy WWII Veteran, the widow of a Navy Veteran with 32 years of active duty service, and the mother of a Navy F-18 Pilot currently serving, I am honored to be in a position to assist others who have served. Our organization is both the embodiment and extension of the motto “Leave No One Behind,” and it is a great privilege to see these words in action

Job Description in the Military: Served in the US Navy and cross-assigned to the US Army for 25 years. Veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Storm, Desert Fox, Kosovo, Operation Iraqi Freedom (3 deployments), and Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan).

What I like about serving in VTCMP: Any Veteran who becomes a VTC Mentor will experience the focus, the responsibility, and the excitement that is felt when you empower a fellow Veteran to get their lives back on track. These folks are our battle buddies that are almost always justice-involved because they are dealing with PTSD and tangled, upsetting memories that eventually lead to illegal self-medication. Being that battle buddy makes me feel like I am still leading troops and getting the best from them and for them.

I am currently the developer of the “Mentor Memorandum System©” (MMS), a web-based platform for Documenting Mentee encounters and progress allowing for effective communication between mentor coordinator and mentor.

What I like about serving VTCMP: I enjoy helping the Board of Directors with my technical skills developing Mentor communications.
