Core Values

Honesty

A mentor does not lie, our relationship with our clients are based on trust.

Self Determination

A mentor allows the client to do what they want to do, even if they disagree with it. We are not probation officers.

Integrity

A mentor does what is right when no one is watching. We do what we say we are going to do.

Professionalism

A mentor is a role model. We wear our uniforms when we are acting as a mentor. We use appropriate language and we conduct ourselves in a manner that reflects well on the organization.

Empathy

We try to see the situation from the perspective of the client.

Teamwork

As individuals we are strong but as an organization we are strongest. Share the workload with others and share information as appropriate.

Commitment

It takes a veteran 12-20 months to graduate VTC. They will make mistakes along the way. We stay with our mentees unless there is a concern about safety.
