In this project, we illustrated a practical extension to the home security and automated vacuum cleaner market. Both markets are separate in application, and have never been imagined in the same universe. While Roomba vacuum cleaners are adding smart home features, it is only a matter of time before home security features are as well.

Our goal was to make this a reality with the use of an Arduino Mega and a smartphone application. In this project, Jared and Cole utilized the Arduino for climate control, bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, self driving capabilities, a user interface, and home security, all while being able to maintain complete autonomy.

The intended finished product resembles a cross between a smart home security system and a Roomba vacuum cleaner without the vacuum.
