There are multiple scientific investigation standards across all grade levels. The majority of activities listed below are appropriate for teaching the concepts of scientific method to upper elementary and middle school students. They could easily be adapted for other audiences.

Students work as individuals, in pairs or small groups to complete the experiments, walking through each step of the scientific method. These activities incorporate critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. Lessons may also be extended to include citizenship through a discussion of scientific investigation as it relates to current events and societal problems.
