What is Outreach?

Many K-12 students feel that physics is just hard math and nothing more. We want to break that misconception! Physics outreach involves bringing physics in an understandable and fun manner so students, parents, and teachers get excited about physics.

Outreach at Virginia Tech

The Department of Physics at Virginia Tech has an extensive outreach program. We bring demos, lessons, and excitement to K-12 students or other interested people. If you want us to come to your school, you can find more details on the outreach website here.

SPS and Outreach

SPS is heavily involved with the Physics outreach program. Many of our members have taken the outreach courses or participated in outreach workshops. We also ran an outreach workshop at the 2024 SPS Zone 4 Meeting.
