The American School Counselor Association (ASCA) has developed a National Model for school counselors to best serve every student. This comprehensive school counseling program follows the ASCA National Model and is designed for the use of Noel C. Taylor Learning Academy in Roanoke City, Virginia.
It is important to note that Noel C. Taylor Learning Academy is not officially recognized as a school for it is an alternative program that seeks to have students in attendance for no more than three months before students transition back to their home school: Patrick Henry High School, William Fleming High School, James Breckinridge Middle School, James Madison Middle School, John P. Fishwick Middle School, Lucy Addison Middle School, or Woodrow Wilson Middle School.
As such, certain elements of the ASCA National Model have been adapted for the use of Noel C. Taylor Learning Academy in accordance with available data and the unique role that the program plays in preparing students for success at their home school.
In navigating this site, first read a bit about the counselors behind this project and then some pertinent information about the current program at Noel C. The following four tabs entitled Define, Manage, Deliver, and Assess will walk the reader through the components of the ASCA National Model as they relate to Noel C. Taylor. Finally, the References page cites all sources that have contributed to the formulation of this comprehensive school counseling program.
