Imagination is a one-week summer camp for middle school students. While some participants are day campers from the New River Valley and Roanoke, there is also a residential component for students from other parts of Virginia. Targeted at under-represented students, the camp introduces participants to the exciting and fun world of technology, engineering, and science ... not by watching, but by doing!
This outreach activity is intended for rising junior and senior female high school students. A primary focus of the program is to help develop and sustain the interests of women in engineering and the sciences.
NASA INSPIRE is a two-week summer residential program targeting rising 11th grade students currently enrolled in high school. The program allows participants to explore applications of engineering, math, and science in a way that is fun and exciting.
Women in Computing Day is the biggest event the Association for Women in Computing at Virginia Tech performs every year. The target population of the program is middle school girls and the purpose of the program is to encourage them towards exploring a career in science and technology.
