Georgia Beatrice Peterson (1940)

Georgia Beatrice Peterson was born September 4, 1917. She lived in Norfolk, Virginia, with her mother, Martha Peterson, a domestic worker, and her father, Joseph Peterson, a stevedore on the docks. In 1940, Peterson graduated from the Piedmont Nurse Training program. In December 1942, she married George Charles Edward Patillo, a laborer. On the 1942 marriage certificate and a 1949 city directory, her occupation was listed as a nurse. Georgia Peterson Patillo died on June 15, 1981 in Norfolk, and was buried at Roosevelt Memorial Park in Portsmouth, Virginia.
