Visual Media Projects
In the spring semester of my sophomore year at Virginia Tech, I had the opportunity to be a student under Dr. Charmayne Brown in her JMC 2034: Visual News Reporting course. The course, which prides itself as a hands-on experience with visual media, allows students to explore their creative sides through multimedia projects across the semester.
My projects, which revolved around the theme of rising costs in university settings, were crafted with careful attention to detail and produced with high levels of precision. I’m most proud of my Videography project, where I was fortunate enough to interview finance professor Dr. Alex White for a discussion on finances in the modern age. While I’m most proud of this assignment, it was also easily the most challenging piece of media I was asked to produce. As someone who had little experience with Adobe Premiere, learning how to utilize the software in an effective manner was a difficult process.
I’m so fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn under Dr. Brown. My “Major Assignments,” as she calls them, are attached below.
