The Fraternity Verbum Spei has received a most generous gift from the Diocese of Boise - the use of the former Nazareth Retreat Center as its new home for the next few years. Built in the late 70’s and partially remodeled in the late 90’s, it is showing its age.
In May, 2021, a group of industry leading professionals with experience in General Construction, Roofing, Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical, Site Work, Concrete, Rough Carpentry, and Special Systems generously conducted a comprehensive site survey for the Brothers. In their words, “The overall property is a gem within the city limits providing tranquility, matured vegetation, seclusion and the like. The structures and grounds are generally in good condition, but with time, wear-and-tear, and years of seasonal impacts comes maintenance needs, replacement, deterioration, and breakdown... .” Much like the program THIS OLD HOUSE, our dream is to fix what needs urgent repair, freshen up the grounds, and make a few essential changes to support the monastic way of life.
With the certain knowledge that the Holy Spirit has already chosen each of us to assist the Brothers in a unique and special way, consistent with our means and God-given talents, we offer the following lists of needs for your prayerful consideration. Any gift of time, talent, treasure, and especially prayer will be gratefully received. If you are able to help, please reach out to the Brothers by phone, the “Contact Us” button, below, or come to the Monastery and visit. Financial gifts may be made here.
Thank you!
