Students who meet minimum criteria during the gifted identification process time frame in grades 6-8 are eligible to receive services in the Gifted Education Program during the regularly scheduled day. The Gifted Education Program is designed to meet the social/emotional needs of identified gifted students and provides academic challenge through the implementation of advanced curriculum, which is typically at least 2-3 grades above current grade level content. Curriculum and services are centered on a variety of interdisciplinary activities that challenge gifted students in the areas of problem solving, critical thinking, and communication.


6th Grade: Class will meet every day and will take the place of their Reading class. Students will participate in advanced studies which may include the topics of archaeology, the Olympics, the rainforest, Genius Hour, and robotics. Other topics may be added based on the structure of the school year.


7th Grade: Class will meet every day and take the place of their Reading class. Students will participate in advanced studies which may include the topics of roller coasters, archaeology, strategy game design, and Genius Hour. Other topics may be added based on the structure of the school year.


8th Grade: Class will meet every day and will take the place of their Reading class. Students will participate in advanced studies which may include the topics of the stock market, app inventor, medical studies, robotics, and independent studies. Other topics may be added based on the structure of the school year.
