Sixth grade classes will consist of social studies, science, mathematics, and english/language arts (in the form of a reading and writing course). All sixth grade students are able to choose to take either band or choir, or a rotation of the following: Art, FACS, Business, Theater, Design Lab, and Applied Digital Skills.
For grades seven and eight, core subjects include english/language arts (in the form of a reading and writing course), mathematics, science, and social studies. Seventh and eighth graders may choose to enroll in a yearlong exploratory class or in two semester exploratory classes. Band and choir are year-round electives with additional performance requirements. Students may enroll in Spanish 1, a high school level course (and earn high school credit) as their elective. Elective course offerings differ by grade level and teacher availability. Students will need to choose their electives and one alternative in Infinite Campus in order to be considered for these courses. Because staffing and materials are allocated by enrollment numbers, students will not be allowed to switch electives after schedules are finalized in May.
