Every Thursday students may wear their District Academic Champs shirts with

Jeans any color
CPE joggers
CPE mesh shorts
Uniform bottoms
No leggings allowed without uniform shorts/skirt

Friday, May 10

Students may wear their CPE spirit shirts with only CPE mesh shorts, CPE joggers, or uniform bottoms FREE of charge.
- No Jeans or free dress bottoms. Only CPE spirit shirts are allowed.
- Past and present CPE spirit shirts are allowed.

CPE Family.

With a mix of emotions, I would like to announce my retirement!

With a decision this big, I have done some reflecting on my journey in education that started 26 years ago.

Throughout those years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching grades 2nd, 4th and 6th. I then became an assistant principal at Cecil Picard Elementary (the year CPE received its name) and JH Williams Middle. Finally, I landed in the place I call home, Cecil Picard Elementary, 13 years ago. During my time as principal, we faced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. We grew from a small country school to the Academic District Champs of Vermilion Parish.

First and foremost, I’d like to thank God for the opportunity to touch lives of all ages in this position, for the grace to handle situations outside of my control, and for the strength to press on when times were trying.

To my staff - without each and every one of you along the way, success would not have been possible. Thank you for showing up each and every day ready to take on any challenge that presented itself.

To the thousands of families in this community that I’ve had the honor of serving - thank you for trusting me with your babies, day in and day out. That trust is not something I took lightly and it has molded me into the leader I am today.

To my husband, my two daughters, my five grand babies, my parents, my entire family and friends - thank you for loving and supporting me through it all.

Cecil Picard Elementary will forever hold a special place in my heart.

From February 1, 2024 - May 31, 2024 students may print and use the reading tracker to log their reading minutes. Once your child has reached 400 minutes, bring the tracker to Nothing Bundt Cake for a free bundlet.
