Biosphere

What is the Biosphere?

The biosphere is carbon stored in living things like plants and animals. Plants are a carbon sink and a carbon sink is things that absorb more carbon than they release. Carbon gets into the biosphere by the process of photosynthesis which is when plants use sunlight and carbon dioxide to make their own food. This carbon dioxide comes from the atmosphere. It stores this carbon dioxide in itself to grow. Carbon gets into animals when they eat plants. Carbon leaves the biosphere when things decompose and they either go into the ground in the lithosphere or get released back into the atmosphere.

What Can We Do To Help The Biosphere?

The biosphere is anything living and is basically our environment. To help we could try to keep our environment clean and healthy. You can help just by doing little things like picking up trash and litter and putting it in the trash can. This will help out because that's one less thing that animals would eat that they're not supposed to. Another little thing you can do is recycle. Recycling can help reduce pollution because when we throw stuff away it goes to landfills and gets buried in the ground. The more you throw away the less that goes to landfills. Another thing you can do to help is create a compost. Once again this reduces the amount of trash in landfills and it makes a great natural fertilizer that you can use. One last thing you can do is reduce your pesticide use because it can end up damaging your soil. To stop using pesticide and still keep pests away from your house is to make sure all of your food is sealed up and away from where they can get to it. If they attack plants and you are going to use pesticides, make sure that they are natural and will not harm the environment. These are some things you can do to help keep our environment clean and healthy.
