Today is June first, which marks the beginning of Pride Month, celebrated in June in honor of the Stonewall Riots, which took place in 1969. President Clinton officially decreed in 1999 that June would be gay and lesbian pride month, and President Obama expanded this to the entire LGBTQIA community in 2011. Throughout the month, Visibility Club will be sponsoring pride-themed activities, including prizes, so listen to the announcements each day. In honor of pride, a song by a queer artist will be featured on the announcements each day this week.
