INDUSTRIAL VISIT

Industrial Visit of SY & TY BMM (ENG & MAR) Batch went to Jodhpur & Jaisalmer

Students visited the plant of ‘Rajasthan Patrika.’ Mr. Sunil Charan, Divisional Head welcomed us along with his technicians, operators and machine experts. They demonstrated the newspapers printing process and also explained the minute details to keep in mind during the whole production process . That was the incomparable experience for all the media students. His team’s cooperation and support made this visit memorable.

TV NEWS PRODUCTION

The webinar was graced by Mr. Abhijeet Kamble, the Output Editor at Zee 24 Taas. The webinar mainly focused on TYBMM Sem VI subject Broadcast Journalism.

RADIO PRODUCTION

RJ Mr. Ganesh Achwal, a radio jockey at FM Rainbow 107.1 conducted a seminar on RADIO PRODUCTION. He also gave practical knowledge on hosting the show, writing for radio, and exciting topics for radio were discussed. Voice modulation was taught and performed for students to understand it better.

PRINT JOURNALISM

Webinar for the Students of SYBAMMC, TYBMM was conducted by Dr Rahul Ranalkar. Dr. Rahul have covered the 26-11 terror attack on Mumbai for 36 consecutive hours on Zee News.

PR IN BRAND BUILDING

BAMMC organised a webinar on PR in brand building by Mr. Pramod Sawant CEO of Yukti Consultancy. He explained different aspects of public relations and the importance of building a brand

PHOTOGRAPHY CONFAB

All the budding photographers of FY, SY and TYBMM (30 students) along with faculties were present to be a part of the seminar and gain intel from Jai Dodiya an Alumni. The seminar began with Jai introducing himself, followed by him giving guidelines and sharing his experiences etc.


BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY

The guest speaker Mr.Shashidev Sirothiya began with an introduction to what Cinema really mean and how important it is and also enlightening its importance to be in near future. He also educated the students with the concept of Blockchain Technology in the field of media and entertainment with the help of Production Process.


TIPS AND TOOLS OF CONTENT WRITING

Mrs. Priyadarshini Deshpande, content writer, dialogue writer for many Marathi serials, reporter was the speaker for the seminar. The seminar started on the note how observation is very important for writing any kind of content may be for serials, films or product. Good storytelling stirs interest and creates meaning, fosters contemplation in its readers, and in turn, becomes valuable to your intended audience. She shared her valuable experience from the industry and made students aware about why content writing and content analysis is important. Content can be created from strong observation and observation comes from strong patience over subject.

PEHCHAN KAUN QUIZ

The Department of BAMMC , along with the IQAC conducted an intra-collegiate online quiz named ‘Pehchan Kaun Quiz?’ on 20th to 23rd May 2020, The quiz was conducted on the theme of Mass Media, It involved questions on advertising, films, and journalism. While the lockdown period was on and the Covid-19 was threatening people’s lives, the Department of BAMMC carried out this light hearted quiz to enlighten the mood of teachers by adding interactive features in their quiz like dialogues, images etc.

The Quiz received a huge number of 430 as responses and all the participants were felicitated online with a certificate of participation.

A GUEST LECTURE BY MR NITIN VAIDYA

“Today’s media is the best suitable media for young generation” said the Director of Dashmi Creation and Ex Head of Zee Marathi, Mr Nitin Vaidya who graced VIVA College’s Department of Mass Media. Through his talk, Mr Vaidya opened up a really effective gate to discuss with students the contemporary challenges and expectations to be a part of Media Industry

LIVE MARKETING PROJECT

Department of Mass Media of, VIVA College, Virar (w) organized a live marketing project at the college atrium. From early morning students arrived at college and started decorating their stall, from logos to tag lines, big banners to vocal promotion all kind to marketing strategy students were using on that day to selling their products. Students gave their 100% in marketing and finally total of 15000/- has been contributed by the students for the charity to "Shards Mata Orphanage".


A GUEST LECTURE BY SUHAS BIRHADE

“It is an extremely responsible work to do reporting.” Suhaas Birhade, Special Representative of Loksatta, said that due to the increasing influence of today's breaking news and electronic media. He guided the students on “Journey from Event to News”.


CAREER GUIDANCE

The morning session was dedicated at guiding Third year students in making better career choices in all domains of their interest including information and security. Overall the seminar helped the students to have a better understanding of the opportunities that could be offered by higher education system or organization



“LEOPARD IN A SPOT”

Subsequent to the seminar conducted in VIVA College by Nikit Surve on the role of media in wildlife reportage, a follow up symposium was organized at St. Xavier’s Autonomous in association with Wildlife Conservation Society, ONGC, Mumbai Press Club and Maharashtra Van Vibhaag. BMM Students of St. Xavier’s college and VIVA College attended the symposium of which many reputed journalists and wildlife activists were a part of. They shared their stories of contribution and coverage that paved a way to let the common man to see the leopard in a new light.

The students and speakers had regular interactive sessions for better understanding. The symposium ended with report writing workshop to see how well the students perceive the significance of portrayal of wildlife in the media.



GEARING UP FOR THE FUTURE: PROJECT MAPPING

The seminar was a modern approach towards usage of multimedia and innovative technology in media industry. Today’s is a world of digital communication. Knowledge of this world is a must for BMM students. In the field of animation students were well introduced with different aspects and opportunities offered for them. Practical knowledge was shared with them with popular examples of advertisements and film scenes.
