Dimensions of Product Design. For each dimension, you will demonstrate your mastery using images, videos, reflections, etc. in your Personal Brand Website.
Read the requirements for each dimension.
Create a seperate page for each of the 6 Dimensions.
When you feel a page is complete, submit a published link on Canvas. Be sure to follow up on any feedback if you get a "Not Yet."
If you need help or supplies, ASK!!
Complete an original Design Challenge for a real user of your choice.
Students will find a user that they will create a solution for. Students will utilize VIDA’s Design Thinking process.
The process must be documented on their Personal Brand Website.
Archive the process (user bio, empathy data, needs statement, evidence of ideation, prototype(s), and reflection of what was learned through the experience of designing for someone else).
Create an "edgy" but meaningful title/name for your product.
A prototype must make use of any number of the Dimensions of Product Design. We know not all prototypes/solutions are physical. In these cases, students must somehow integrate the application of the Dimensions of Product Design where it makes sense. A prototype is a way to help visualize an abstract idea. How do you communicate the idea in your head. We live in a visual world, and people need to see it to get it. Must be either physical or digital.
In addition to the prototype, students will create a professional-styled logo.
Students have the choice for this logo to either represent themselves, or the prototype they create.
This will be revealed at your Design Defense.
Successfully complete an oral “Design Defense”
Only students who are successfully on track to complete both mastery of the Dimensions of Product Design & the Design Challenge will be invited for a Design Defense.
You may invite family and friends.
Design Defenses are always in May. - `
