This project brief was aimed at identifying user problems and solving them. We were tasked with researching characters in a documentary, identifying possible problems and designing a mobile application that would affect their lives in a positive manner.

It seems that many pet owners feel ill equipt and uneducated on the inner workings of their pets lives. One such concerned owner is Alexis Delvy who reaslised the immense potential in her dog Bunny, but is concerned about how to most empathetically yet efficiantly apply this potential, while making sure her dog is the happiest and healthiest that she can possibly be.
SOLUTION
SOLUTION
Equip Alexis and other pet owners like her with the educational and functional tools to understand their pets and track the different elements that would contribute to their ultimate overall well-being. This will be provided in a mobile app which provides educational resources, journal functions and a way to reach your community.

There are more people who are curious about how far inter-species communication can go than one would expect
A lot of working individuals now a days struglle with finding a work-life balance anf that includes time they would like to spend with their pets. There has been extensive benefits on having a pet in your life for the human and ensuring that you give the pet an ideal life contributes to the health, happiness and ell-being of both the animal and owner.
There are a lot of people who’s pets may be struggling with complex issues that the owner can’t understand and might just perceive as strange behaviour on behalf of the animal. Having a platform where they can learn, share and bond with others in the same situation will be one of many easy steps to help in this regard.

After some initial sketching, I moved on to digital wireframes and a wireflow to get a general feeling for the flow of the application and the features and functions that will be implemented

“My Pets & I” is a pet wellness app aimed at providing you and your furry animals with the happiest, healthiest life possible. Giving the user the option to journal, track, learn and connect provides them with all the tools to foster a well-balanced environment for them and their pet
A simple, enticing splash screen that gives a brief idea of the app
User can choose already existing profile or create a new profile
Homescreen for the new user with a fun fact and suggested features
Helpful resources for the user to explore related to their pet
The activities feature offers the user suggested activities that they can do within a certain category
After selecting a filter, the user will be provided with videos and articles in that specific category
When they select the activity they an click and learn exactly what it is
They can enter the chat, read the messages and reply
CONCLUSION
As Interaction designer, it was incredibly rewarding to work on a project such as this one. It was one of my favourite design experiences in my journey as a student as it tasked me with creating real life solutions to real life problems and it fostered a true excitement for future projects that might be similar.
