ART RULES

RESPECT!! Follow the rules below and be considerate of other individuals' space, feelings, and abilities.

Grade:20% participation, worksheets, weekly packet assignments, 80% projects completed in class (approx. 2)

Come on time- 3 times without a pass = lunch detention, parent contact, and participation points deducted

Arrival- Make sure to read and follow the "do now" on the screen when you arrive EVERYDAY!!

Socializing and Use of class time- talking should not be a priority!! If you prioritize talking over your projects your assignment grades will suffer and you will not complete your work efficiently

** If you are continuously off task your parents will be notified.

** Time spent at home on projects will not increase your participation score for lack of time spent in class.

Volume- speaking to people at your table about your work should be a whisper or quietly. DO not talk across tables or raise your voice. Loud conversations are a distraction to EVERYONE!!

Calling out- if you would like to share your thoughts or ask a question, please raise your hand. If you call out regularly, participation points will be deducted from your participation grade.

Absent- If you are absent, you are responsible for making up material missed on your own time. When possible, assignments will be posted in the classroom for you to refer to.

Due Dates- you will have 5 school days to hand in a PROJECT past the due date without penalty. This does not count for projects due the last week of the quarter. You will have 2 additional days to hand in a class participation assignment if necessary. You are required to make up the work on your own time (time will not be provided in class). ** Reminder-participation points can NOT be earned back for completing work at home when you did not use your class time wisely.

Use of materials- when given materials to work with please use them appropriately. When returning materials please be sure to put them back in their appropriate locations. ** If materials are not used correctly, points will be deducted from your participation grade and lunch detention may be assigned.

Bathroom-use your bathroom vouchers to go to the bathroom during class. Sign the “sign out” sheet and take your voucher with you. Upon your return, please submit your voucher to the teacher. Exiting for any other reason- ask permission, sign the “sign out” sheet, and take a written pass.

Dismissal - Continue working until you are instructed to clean up. Not doing so will reflect negatively on your participation grade. Please make sure the area surrounding your table is clean, all materials, and table folders have been put away, please return to your seats and await dismissal. ** DO NOT LINE UP AT THE DOOR

No Cell Phones- all cell phones must be turned off and stored in individual lockers upon your arrival to school. **Cell phones that are out during class will be taken away and turned into your guidance office.
