Art Rules!

Classroom Expectations:

Students are asked to follow the rules stated below. Doing so will help to create a safe, pleasant, respectful, and successful environment within the classroom.

No Cell Phones- all cell phones must be turned off and stored in individual lockers upon your arrival to school.

Grade: 20% participation, worksheets, weekly packet assignments 80% projects completed in class

“Do now”- make sure to read and follow the "do now". Not doing so will reflect negatively on your participation grade.

Come on time- if you are late on a regular basis your parents will be contacted, points will be deducted off your participation grade, and you will have lunch detention

Socializing and Use of class time- if you prioritize talking over working your participation grade and the quality of your work will suffer. If you lack focus on your projects or class activities while in class you will not complete the assignments in the allotted time frame. If you are continuously off task you will serve lunch detention and your parents will be notified

Volume- if you need to say something please speak quietly at your own table. DO not talk across tables or raise your voice. Loud conversations are a distraction to EVERYONE!!

Calling out- if you would like to share your thoughts or ask a question please raise your hand.

Absent- If you are absent you are responsible for making up material missed on your own time.

Due Date- you will have five school days to hand in a PROJECT past the due date without penalty. There will then be a 5-point deduction for each day if late. You will have 2 additional days to hand in a class participation assignment if necessary. 1 point deduction for each additional day it is late. You are required to make up the work on your own time (time will not be provided in class). This does not count for projects due the last week of the quarter. ** participation points can NOT be earned back for completing work at home when you did not use your class time wisely.

Use of materials- when given materials to work with please use them appropriately. When returning materials please be sure to put them back in their appropriate locations. ** you may choose to bring your own when possible, but there may be materials we need to share- sanitizing stations are available

Bathroom-use your bathroom vouchers to go to the bathroom during class. Sign the “sign out” sheet and take your voucher with you. Upon your return please submit your voucher to the teacher. Exiting for any other reason- ask permission, sign the “sign out” sheet, and take a written pass.

End of the period- please make sure the area surrounding your table is clean, all materials, and table folders have been put away, get a paper towel, await teacher approval and sanitizing spray prior to leaving the room.

Respectful of others- please respect other individuals' space, feelings, and abilities.
