Thawing Meat

Equipment: Refrigerator, big bowl, preferably glass/ceramic.

Long Thaw: Move meat from the freezer to the refrigerator, where it slowly defrosts over the next 24 hours. Put on the lowest shelf in the fridge. Make sure the meat package doesn't leak. Wrap it in another plastic bag if it leaks.

Microwave Defrost: Remove meat from packaging if possible. Place in a big-enough bowl - glass or ceramic if possible.

Microwave on power-level ~6 for ~8 minutes.

To change power-level on the microwave, tap: Time Cook, 8, 0, 0 , Power Level, 6, Start.

**Don't leave meat out on a counter to thaw at room temperature.

Grill Skills

  1. Place the grill pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
  2. Brush the grill pan with olive oil using a pastry brush.
  3. Sprinkle boneless, skinless chicken breasts with salt and pepper and place the chicken in the pan.
  4. Cook the chicken breasts without moving them for about five minutes, until the undersides develop golden brown grill marks. Flip the chicken breasts using a pair of tongs and cook on the second sides for another five minutes.
