The aim is to run a race series with competitors verified for age and weight. In many ways it will be like a real-life race league where you join and provide information to be included in the results.
ZwiftMasters is age-based not FTP or w/kg based.
Groups are split into 5 year categories as per UCI regulations.
Note that women may race two categories above, following the practice of the League of Veteran Racing Cyclists e.g. a 37 year old woman races in D not B.
A 30-34 years
B 35-39 years
C 40-44 years
D 45-49 years
E 50-54 years
F 55-59 years
G 60 -64 years
H 65-69 years
I 70-74 years
J 75-79 years
Bands are determined by the age you turn in the calendar year i.e. if you turn 45 in July you are a D category all year, also following the UCI model.
Races will generally be around 40-50km in length but length and terrain may vary to keep things interesting.
Riders must display age category within their on-screen name in the format:
First name Last name ZHR (Category)
e.g. John Smith ZHR (D)
This will be very strictly applied.
The Category is for other riders to know who they are racing against, so a D cat knows he/she doesn’t have to hold the wheel of a B cat, and also helps filter results.
For a full description of the points go to the Results page.
There are Overall points for outright placing and Category points within age bands. The series has 12 normal races and a special 13th race with bonus points.
Series rankings are based on the Best 6 results. You can qualify with less but obviously have fewer scoring opportunities.
