Vis

Vis came from a tiefling village. It didn't have a proper name, and not only tieflings lived there. It was a village for outcasts, most of whom were tieflings. Some lived there for years, some just stopped by for a while, but Vis lived there for all of her nine years. She learned druidic magic from her parents, like most of the village. She had a best friend, Valgoria, an Asmodrian tiefling. Perhaps the only one, besides Vis, who survived the village. They would meet in the evening by the lake away from the village. One day, Vis decided to go home early and left Val alone by the lake. As she crept back into her room, she heard screams... chop... chop... BOOM. The cries for help of dying villagers, the cutting of organs, and the destruction of homes. Before Vis could do anything, she was in her house. A tall woman with dark hair and sickles in her hands. Vis quietly hid under the bed. She was as quiet as she could be. She didn't even want to listen to what was happening around her, and strangely enough, it was over quickly. Then suddenly. BOOM! The whole house began to collapse, as did the others. Vis was surrounded and immobilized by wood. Then, light... too much light. It was getting hotter and hotter. Fire. All the ruins of the houses began to burn. Then she heard only laughter, and after about ten minutes, rain. She tried to send signals using illusions in the form of vapors. And she was lucky. Immediately afterwards, a tall, strong man helped her. Vis hardly even looked at him. Instead, she looked at the remains of her parents. Their bodies were torn beyond recognition, and what was left was burned to ashes, just like the ruins of the village. Vis began to cry and hugged the man who had helped her. The man took her in as his daughter. He lifted her up in his arms and they left together. The man with his back turned to the village, following the killer's trail, Vis facing forward, taking one last look at the dying flames in the ruins. And so they set out together on a journey of revenge.
