Mgła
(Mist)
Once, Città di Sant’Angelo brought forth renowned condottieri and builders of cathedrals. Weakened by heresies and uprisings, it now clings greedily to its wealth and harbors a deep hatred of outsiders. The story of a city on the brink of inevitable decline intertwines with the tale of one-armed Draco — at once a madman and the chosen one. Accused of sacrilege, he is condemned to death. He is spared from his final punishment by the castellan’s daughter, whose custom allows her to grant clemency to one prisoner on the night of Carnival. Banished from Città di Sant’Angelo, Draco sets out on a long journey in pursuit of fame and revenge.
And once again — as is so often the case with Brzezińska — it is the masterfully guided narrative that takes center stage, where reality blends with feverish dreams, and the tale of rebellious young apprentices merges with the legend of the city’s patron, Guerin, who once slew a dragon. As in the testimony of La Vecchia, accused of witchcraft in Water Sieve, it remains impossible to discern what is truth and what is invention.

Czeluść
(Abyss)
Sometimes a single youthful mistake costs a lifetime.
Encroaching dusk, a sheer cliff, and icy water. Forbidden alcohol, the first stirrings of desire, and a tragedy that will cast a shadow over several lives.
The traces left behind fade into the darkness of Agnieszka’s memory, while her subconscious blurs the boundaries of identity. What is real, and what is merely guilt? Reality itself offers no solace.
To unravel the mystery of that June night in the quarry, we must descend into the abyss of the darkest recesses of oblivion. The novel’s intricate structure, moving through the shadows of the protagonist’s memories and the lingering afterimages of her first love, leads us to uncover a long-buried secret. Anna Kańtoch masterfully constructs a literary enigma around a writer’s life, leaving us eager to return to Abyss the moment we turn the final page.

Rozdroże Kruków
(The Crossroads of Ravens)
The grand master of Polish fantasy, Andrzej Sapkowski, once again invites us into the extraordinary world of The Witcher. This time, we are transported to Geralt’s youth, when the White Wolf was only beginning to take his first steps in the witcher’s trade. Armed with two runic swords and driven by youthful idealism, Geralt must face the first trials of a life filled with monsters, moral dilemmas, and human tragedy. The Crossroads of Ravens is a story of coming of age, of choices, and of the razor-thin line that separates good from evil.
Geralt sets out on his first witcher’s journey. Along his path he encounters not only monsters, but also those who seek salvation: innocent victims, ill-fated lovers, and those who believe a witcher’s blade can solve their troubles. The young White Wolf strives to uphold the code instilled in him by his mentors, yet life offers him no easy answers. Can one remain true to such principles in a world where nothing is as it seems? Geralt’s idealism collides with brutal reality, and every decision carries consequences that linger long in memory.
