Terminology 

-Negative Space - The empty space between, around or with objects within a design

-Gestalt theory of Design - Proximity - A design principal that refers to the spatial relationship between elements in design 

-Balance - The distribution of visual elements within a composition to create a sense of equilibrium and cohesiveness 

-Composition - The way visual elements are arranged to make a cohesive design. 

-Hierarchy - Using certain principals to focus on certain aspects of the design. As well as indicate what aspects are more important than others in the design.
