Altered images
For these three photos I choose photos that were important to me. One of my dog Winnie, one of me at the beach and one of me and my sister. For the Winnie photo I messed with the color of the image. I made the blue stand out a little more to make the photo more dramatic because looks serious in the photo. The I put her name all over the photo I did it because I thought that it looked cool, and I made some of the words run off the screen, so it looked like a continues design. For the beach photo I wanted to make it dramatic because I was there at night, so the ocean looked mysterious. So, I turned it black and white and then adjusted some of the hues. I wanted the people seeing the photo to have the same experience I did while I was there. For the last photo it is of me and my sister before I want to prom. I picked this photo because it was a happy moment. I adjusted some of the colors to be brighter and made the pink and purples stand out because that is how I was feeling in the moment. Then I added some text to complete the image, and I was done. I like this assignment because it helped me learn photoshop a little more. I also love photography and the editing process, so this allowed me to do more of that.
Beach Scene and Forest Scene - Using the selection tool in Photoshop
During this project I learned how to make a scene in photoshop! We took outside objects and pasted it into the picture learning how to use the select tool. I liked this project a lot because we had a lot of creative freedom where we could do whatever we wanted. I learned a lot about photoshop after completing this project and I am getting a lot more used to it but I still have a lot to learn! I liked that I got to play around with the eraser and drag tool to make shadows on certain objects. I also got to play around with the objects and try out where the best place to put them was to create the scene. Overall I had a good time completing this project and I learned a lot. I can't wait for more! I made to beach scenes and a forest scene!
Layer Masks
I really liked this project because it gave me a lot of creative freedom to design and really make the images how I wanted them to look. I feel a lot more comfortable with layer masks. For my independent work that I did I choose a flower to work on. Then I found an image of water droplets and I tried two different compositions. One where the droplets are in the background and then another one where they are on the flower. I actually really like how it turned out. I am still really new to photoshop and sometimes it can be frustrating when I do not know how to do something but I feel myself getting more comfortable with it each week we have an assignment! I also loved making the main coast and the birthday photos. I enjoyed using the drawing tool and getting to pick different filters and backgrounds.
Hero Poster
I really enjoyed this project. I worked for most of the week on it and each day I kept thinking of new ideas. I am actually surprised at what it looks like now versus when I started. I wanted the overall poster to have a theme and since I was doing it on Jennifer Aniston I thought that Friends would be the perfect thing to do. The overall design of the poster is the purple door from the tv show that is faded out with a layer mask behind it. With this I practice with the eraser and the drawing tool. For the picture behind it is a bunch of Friends characters and scenes that happened in the show. At the bottom of the page I put a bunch of pictures of Jennifer Aniston with one big version in the middle. I did that by practicing the select tool. Her name took me the most time. I really wanted it to look like the friend's logo and font so I picked the closest one I could find and put the periods and the white in the background. I really like the final design that I made with her name and where the picture frame is placed. I had a lot of trouble on where to put the picture frame I wanted to go but I like the spot that I picked. I did not add a lot of words to this because I did not want it to look crowded. Overall I like this project a lot and the amount of creative freedom that I had. I also loved doing it on a person that I really admire as an actress!
I am a college student so I had to use photos from the internet to complete this assignment!
Retouching
For these photos I mostly fixed the Horizon line and the color tone of the images. I enjoyed doing the personal one because I actually took this image and I like the way that it turned out. For the cat photo I also fixed the coloring and I cleaned up the photo and got rid of any spots that were distracting. I liked this assignment because know I know how to fix my own photos for the world to see. I will be using Photoshop to fix my photos from now on before I show them to people or I post them. I liked getting to see how good you can make a photo really look.
