DeckBattle is a fast-paced card battle Trading Card Game. In this game, two players Battle each other by using the effects written on their cards until their foe's deck reaches zero.
Everything you need to start a game is a constructed deck of 36 cards. There are over 50+ cards to choose from, so collecting additional cards in Booster Packs and Starter Decks will let you customize your personal Deck and increase your chances of Winning!
This is the Official DeckBattle Rules. It's important to learn how to play correctly, so you should read these rules before playing if you're new to the game. Understanding the rules will help you make the best use of your cards, so keep the rules handy during your first few games.
With 60+ of cards to choose from, you can create and customize your own Deck with your favorite cards. Every Player will have their own unique Deck, completely different from every other Player's Deck, which makes it really exciting to play!
Even if a card is Crushed before you are able to use it, it may become more powerful when combined with Counters. It's fun to collect all the different cards available and create your own combos, then unleash them in a Battle!
Booster Packs are released every few months, along with a Starter Deck! Bringing new cards and new combos to add new strength to your Deck. Battles evolve every time a new Booster Pack is released, keeping your Battles cool and exciting.

Assemble your favorite cards into a Deck. The amount of cards you need is 36 cards.
You can only have up to 2 copies of the same Card name in your Deck.
You can only have up to 6 cards with Counter Effects in your Deck.
Some cards are Banned or Limited-(X). Check official site for Banned List.
Dice - Some cards require a die roll. If you play with these, have a standard dice ready to roll with numbers 1 through 6.
Calculator - This game requires addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Card Sleeves - Plastic sleeves can prevent your cards from getting bent or scratched. You can only have 1 type of card sleeves for your Deck.
Invoke Zone (IZ) - The Invoke Zone is where your Invokes will be placed after playing them.
Construct Zone (CZ) - The Construct Zone is where your Constructs will be placed after playing them.
Deck Zone (DZ) - The Deck Zone is where your Deck will be placed for Battle. When preparing the game, you place your Deck here Face-Down. When all the cards of a Player's Deck are gone, that Player loses the game. If both Player's Decks reach 0 at the same time, the game ends in a tie.
Drop Pile (DP) - The Drop Pile is where you place your cards after they either Crush or finished Activating. These cards are placed Face-Up on this zone. The contents of both player's Drop Pile are public knowledge, and your foe can look through yours at any time during the Battle. The order of the cards in the Drop Pile should NOT be changed as it affects specific cards.
These are the cards used in DeckBattle. These card's tiers are categorized by colors. Each Tier has a style of playing, red representing crush, blue representing recovery, and yellow representing general.
There are two types of Counter Effects: Crush and Recover. These effects are applied when the card is crushed, after you apply the effect, the card is removed from the game. These are the effects of each counter:
Crush - Crush the Top Card From Your Foe's Deck.
Recover - Shuffle the Top Card of Your Drop Pile back into Your Deck.
There are two types of cards that stay active on the Field: Invoke and Construct. These cards are played on the Field and stay active until either they are Crushed or a card effect Crushes them.
Invoke - Invoke cards are placed on the Invoke Zone
Construct - Construct cards are placed on the Construct Zone.
There are only 3 rarities in this game: Common, Rare, and Full Art. You can see an example of each above.
Playing the Game - You play the cards from your hand and do as it says on the card effect. (You may only play 1 card from each tier per turn unless additional card is specified by another card effect). You try to make your foe run out of cards from their deck to win.
Winning a Battle - When a Player's Deck reaches 0 cards, that player loses and the other player wins. If both players reach 0 cards on their deck, then the battle ends in a draw.
Victory Conditions - Reduce your foe's deck to 0 cards.
Before starting a Battle, follow these steps. Also make sure you have all your extra items that your Deck might need, like a coin or counters.
1. After greeting your foe, shuffle your Deck thoroughly. Then you may shuffle and cut your foe's Deck (be careful when touching your foe's deck).
2. After cutting, place the Decks face-down in the proper Deck Zones on the field.
3. Play rock-paper-scissors or flip a coin. The winner goes first in the Batle. For your next Battles, the loser of the previous Battle devides who goes first. If the previous Battle ended in a draw, determine who starts first in the next Battle with another coin toss, etc.
Finally, draw 4 cards from the top of your Deck; this is your starting hand. Starting with the first player.
Start Phase - This is the first phase. The player whose turn it is (the "turn player") draws 1 card.
Action Phase - This is when you play most of your cards: You can activate your colored tier cards. (You may only play 1 card from each tier per turn unless additional card is specified by another card effect). Here you can Activate Invoke's effects or Construct's effects that are already in your field.
End Phase - Announce the end of your turn, and if there are any cards on the field which says "...during the End Phase..." in their effect, resolve those effects in this phase.
You calculate the damage each time a card from the Deck is Crushed. Depending on how many cards are Crushed, you Flip that many cards from your Deck in face-up to the side, then go in order starting with the First one you flipped, checking for the Counter Effect. Apply the Counter Effect in order before putting the card(s) in the Drop Pile. Then remove the card with the Counter Effect used from the game.
Banned List - Certain cards have specific quantity restrictions that further limit t he number that can be included in a Deck. The list of Banned cards is updated regularly and is posted on the official site. Please check it before preparing your Deck.
Public Knowledge - The number of cards in a player's Hand, Deck, and Drop Pile are all public knowledge and both players can verify these things at any time. If asked, you must answer these things to your foe truthfully. You are allowed to pick up and verify the cards in your foe's Drop Pile but you must ask their permission first. Also you may NOT change the order of the cards when verifying their Drop Pile, otherwise you will instantly lose the Battle.
Rules vs Card Effects - If there is a discrepancy between the basic rules and a card's effect, the card effect takes precedence. For example, you may only play 1 card per tier color, but with a card effect, it is possible to play more than one.
