act 1 MRT station is located within the Singapore Acting Centre. This station brings connections for people to the Singapore Acting Centre and surrounding residential estates from other parts of the country.

It is also located a few metres away from Red Village, which is within walking distance of the station.

A temporary depot built at act 2, which is also named act 2 Depot, is built a few metres ahead the station through overrun tunnels.

It is the first station integrated with a building structure.

A bus stop will be constructed outside the station so that a new "feeder" service can be introduced to connect it to Red Village.
