The Zehnder Ranch Elementary Family Leadership Council (FLC) is a parent, teacher and school organization set up to support the students and community of Zehnder Ranch Elementary School (ZRES) in Elk Grove, CA. We are 100% volunteer supported, and all funds raised go directly to supporting ZRES enrichment activities.
Why doesn't Zehnder Ranch Elementary have a PTO or PTA?
The Family Leadership Council (FLC) is ZRES's version of the PTO/PTA. The organization follows the school's Leadership Focus, where all parents are expected to lead by example.
Are there membership fees?
No fees. The FLC is 100% volunteers. All parents and guardians of ZRES students are automatically an FLC member. Your Membership "fee" is the valuable time you spend attending FLC meetings, volunteering in FLC and classroom events, and participating in fundraising events.
When are FLC events? I never hear about them.
We announce our events through as many channels as possible and are striving to improve communication with ZRES parents. Major events will be announced by fliers that go home with the students, by e-mail via the ZRES front office, our FLC Facebook, FLC Instagram, and the FLC Website with Google Calendar that lists all of our events. Get to know one of our FLC Board Members, and we'll be happy to keep you in the loop!
FLC coordinated events include Harvest Festival, Santa's Breakfast, Ranch Round-Ups, Longhorn Stampede Fun Run, Ice Cream Socials, Goodies with Grownups, National Walk and Bike to School Day, and more!
I don't have time to volunteer. How else can I help?
Don't have time to volunteer, but still want to help out? Donations are the most direct way to support the FLC. 100% of funds raised go back to the school for fun activities and classroom enrichment.
