Privacy Policy for Expense Tracker
Last updated: June 03, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes Our policies and procedures on the processing, security, and local storage of Your information when You use the Expense Tracker mobile application (the "Service") and tells You about Your privacy rights.
We process your local data solely to provide and improve the user experience of the Application. By using the Service, You agree to the local processing of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Interpretation and Definitions
- Application: Refers to Expense Tracker, the software program developed as an offline utility.
- Device: Any Android device capable of running the Application, such as a cell phone or tablet.
- Personal Data: Any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual. For this offline Application, this includes transaction text records, budget goals, and expense amounts entered by you.
- Country: Pakistan
2. 100% Offline Data Storage & Collection
Unlike traditional cloud-connected applications, Expense Tracker is a "local-first" application.
- Local Sandbox Database: All transactional data, category names, monthly budget parameters, and spending values that you input are saved strictly inside your Device's local storage container using an isolated SQLite/Room database framework.
- No Transmission: This data is never transmitted, broadcast, synced, or uploaded to external cloud servers, databases, or API systems. The developer has no mechanical means of reading, storing, accessing, or gathering your financial tracking entries.
3. System Permissions and Usage Data
- Local Storage Access: If you utilize the optional data export tools, the application requests access to the standard Android Storage Access Framework interface. This permission is used exclusively to write and compile generated CSV or PDF spreadsheets directly inside your device's local system "Downloads" or document file tree directory.
- Push Notifications and Budget Alerts: If enabled via your settings preferences, the application sets up a standard local Android Notification Channel using the native system NotificationManager framework. These triggers perform mathematical verification calculations locally on-device to dispatch alert summaries (e.g., alert reminders when your spending sum approaches your budget threshold) without transmitting user state flags to external notification hubs.
4. Sharing and Disclosure of Your Data
Because your data resides securely within the local client application sandbox:
- Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell, rent, trade, share, or disclose your financial records or usage profiles to third-party advertising registries, data brokers, tracking analytics APIs (such as Google Analytics), or corporate entities.
- Data Transfer: No cross-border data routing occurs during standard application runtimes.
5. Data Retention and Deletion Rights
You maintain absolute ownership and control over your data state.
- Wiping Data: Because your metrics exist entirely locally on your phone, you can permanently erase all transaction tables and preference states at any time simply by navigating to your Android App Management Settings panel and selecting "Clear Data / Clear Cache," or by uninstalling the Application entirely from your device.
6. Children's Privacy
Our Service does not target or knowingly harvest online identification data from individuals under the age of 16. Because all processing parameters operate in an offline, zero-collection capacity, no children's tracking sequences occur within the application footprint.
7. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update Our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify You of any revisions by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. You are advised to review this page periodically for updates.
