A comprehensive study on Physico-Mechanical characteristics of Okra fibre (Abelmoschus esculentus) for textile applications
Summary: This research investigates the physic mechanical characteristics of okra bast fibers (OBF) and their commercial use in textile applications. The study uses FTIR, SEM, and XRD to characterize OBFs. Results show amorphous regions are larger than crystalline regions, and technical fibers are overlapped and cemented by non-cellulosic compounds. These properties are similar to other bast fibers, indicating their potential in various textile applications.
