As a junior, I found engineering to be interesting and fun. In the future, I would like to become a Navy officer. I want to get a degree in an engineering field. My mom, dad, and my brother Erik are all in the Navy. In middle school, when I went to my mom’s workplace. I got to go inside many helicopters and learned much about the Navy. I have gone to the Pax River base with my family many times and every single time it is a fun and exciting time seeing all of the many different aircraft and inventions that are on display.
I have attended the Summer Stem program at the Naval Academy in Annapolis. I have taken the highest level of math that I can at the moment, which is AP Calculus AB. Also, I am in AP Physics and plan to take classes at CSM. I think in the future the robotics portion of the tech center will be an important thing to learn. Hand-drafting and CADD will be a fun thing to learn and work upon skills that I have already developed. I have taken AP computer science, and it being a challenging class, I learned many things.
I have participated in many extracurricular activities. These extracurricular activities have taught me teamwork, the importance of following directions, and the importance of having a goal to work towards. I am on the high school cross-country team and the track team for Chopticon. I attend and participate in my church. Working and playing in these activities has made me learn many things about myself. I like to have a set goal, so I know what I am working towards at any given time.
After graduation, I plan on attending the U.S. Naval Academy. If I do not get into the Academy, I plan to attend the University of Maryland and major in Mechanical Engineering. Attending the Naval Academy will teach me many things that I will use in my life and I believe it will be a fun and new experience. I think being a Naval officer will be a challenge, but if everything works out, I will have fun working with the many people that I will meet in this profession. Meeting new people and traveling will broaden my perspective on the world. My plan may change if getting into the Naval Academy does not happen, but I still plan on getting an engineering degree.
Once I graduate, I will better society by providing national security and providing leadership for my command. My career goal will help other countries in distress. By serving in the military I will provide safety. With cutting-edge technology, I will better the world as a whole. This will allow me to have a positive impact on the world. I will make a difference to the people that I lead.
