The SEA-Teacher Project, initiated by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Secretariat (SEAMEO Secretariat), offers pre-service student teachers from universities across Southeast Asia the opportunity to gain invaluable teaching experience through international exchange. This initiative aims to:
Enhance Teaching Skills: Provide hands-on classroom experience to develop effective teaching methodologies.
Improve English Proficiency: Encourage the use of English in diverse educational settings.
Broaden Perspectives: Expose future educators to different cultures and educational systems.
Foster Adaptability: Prepare teachers to thrive in varied teaching and learning environments.
Classroom Observation & Assistance – Gain first-hand exposure to different teaching environments and support local teachers.
Independent Teaching Practice – Plan and deliver lessons, applying real-world teaching techniques.
Cross-Cultural Learning – Improve English communication skills and adapt to diverse educational settings.
Mentorship & Support – Receive guidance from host university mentors and peer support from student buddies.
The SEA-Teacher Project offers one-month international teaching placements for 3rd- and 4th-year education students majoring in subjects like Mathematics, Science, English, Pre-school and Primary Education, Economics, Physical Education, and Social Studies.
