Pre-production work started in July 2020 and continued into September 2020.
French Scene Breakdown
This was one of the first things I did at the start of my pre-production work. Specifically, I color coded which scenes in the play took place in the "real world" and in the "D&D World". Then, once the show was cast, I made edits to the breakdown to add the name of the actors within the show.
This breakdown was very useful for when I was making rehearsal schedules and trying to figure out who needs to be at rehearsal for a specific scene. This was also very helpful for Character Dramaturgy and Story & Flow.
Technical Breakdown
After initially reading the play a first time, I went back into the script and took specific notes on the technical needs for the show (costumes, sets, lights, props, sound, special effects, other).
This form was primarily for me to keep track of, especially since we did not have specific designers for the show. It was also great to have for production meeting when we were talking about the wants and needs for the production.
