The foundation Board of Trustees is headed by Vladimir Yakushev, and its members include Chairman of the Council of the Union of Oil and Gas Producers Yuri Shafranik, President of the TII-TyumGNGU Alumni Association Yuri Neyolov, Director General of Gazprom Dobycha Yamburg Oleg Andreyev, President of SibNAC Group Anatoly Brekhuntsov, and other executives of the industry's largest enterprises.
"The Tyumen Industrial University is located in a region of global significance. The West Siberian oil and gas complex is the world's largest mineral resources deposit. The university's standing must reflect the region's "world level" status – and not just for the sake of labels, but to make it possible for both the institution itself and for other companies to take a fresh look at the current trends in the industry's development. My dream is for the university to present an annual report on the opportunities of the Western Siberia, which would be read in Houston, so that those overseas would realize the region's significance on the global scale. If presented properly, the university's role would be enormous," said Yuri Shafranik during one of his visits to his alma mater.
Yuri Shafranik also takes part in the work of the Board of Trustees of the Center for the Support of Homeless Children Charity Fund. The fund, established by Yevgeny Primakov, uses collected donations to help orphanages – to buy everything they may need, from clothes and sports equipment to furniture and everything else.
Since 2002, Yuri Shafranik has been the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Youth Initiatives and Healthy Lifestyles Support Foundation "Our Choice – Small Motherland." The Foundation promotes sports, cultural, and educational initiatives on the regional level.
