Why haven't animals evolved into all the possible forms?
There appears to be only limited variations in the animal forms, at least to the extent that we recognize the morphological patterns specific to the lineage.
Of course, the advantages in environmental adaptation and the accidental extinction of deviated species may contribute.
But I am interested in the possibility that the morphogenetic process (i.e. embryogenesis / development) imposes constraint on evolution by its nature,
and I am researching properties that may contribute to the evolutionary conservation of embryogenesis.

少なくとも、系統に特有の形態のパターン認識できる程度には、出現する形態のバリエーションは限られているように見える。
もちろん環境適応における有利さ・逸脱した系統の偶然の絶滅なども寄与しているだろうが、
私は形態作りの過程（すなわち胚発生）自体の性質によってその進化が制約される可能性に興味を持ち、
実際に寄与する可能性がある性質を研究している。
